GRANITI E QUARZITI

Quartzite is a type of metamorphic rock composed for the most part of its composition by quartz and this allows the stone to have the characteristics of colorless, transparency and vitro appearance.

Granite is an intrusive natural stone of volcanic origin. Its formation and composition are the basis of the hardness, resistance, compactness and impermeability that make it one of the hardest and most requested furnishing rocks on the market.

The combination with other materials creates surprising results, its homogeneous texture matches perfectly with any type of grain or finish, creating color contrasts.

Being a natural material it can differ in place, time of extraction and formation, changing its characteristics.

MARBLES &  TRAVERTINES

Marble , thanks to its particular composition and nature, is a little porous and little absorbent stone, but these two characteristics vary according to the type of marble.

It is widely used in construction, both for the realization of coverings and for the furniture, especially for its aesthetic qualities.

In fact, marble has a low refractive index, which allows light to penetrate inside the structure of the stone, thus giving it a particular brightness.

The environments in which marble is used are thus characterized by a particular luster, but in particular, it is the veins that give that particular beauty of this precious stone.

STONES

Natural stone is capable of giving rooms a particular feeling of naturalness.

Stone coverings are very popular both for the creation of internal and external surfaces, since it has peculiar technical and artistic characteristics that make it one of the most sought-after materials.

To make the scales tip on the stone is not only its excellent aesthetic result, also guaranteed by the creation of detailed and customizable decorations, but also the great capacity to be able to withstand even very heavy loads.

The naturalness of the stone is synonymous with diversity because the stones can have heterogeneous sizes and colors.

Furthermore, the stones can have different finishes, from the most rough surfaces to the flat and smooth ones.

SARNICO's stone

Sarnico's Stone is a type of sandstone used since ancient times throughout the province of Bergamo. There are two prevailing colors, blue-gray and light brown, which make it possible to distinguish the two main varieties: blue and berrettina.

It is widespread along the pre-Alpine belt and the outcrops are included between Sotto il Monte, Bergamo and the southern part of Lake Iseo.

It is a very soft stone that lends itself to any type of processing and is therefore appreciated for the creation of frames, columns, statuary works, accessories and street furniture.

The mineralogical homogeneity and the technical properties of the material allow excellent workability. Today it is often already used with surfaces with a sandblasted or polished surface, but acquires aesthetic value even after more refined workmanship.

Its use is notable in the province of Bergamo both as a masonry stone and as a decorative element: for example, the ashlars of the churches of Santa Maria Maggiore and Sant'Agostino, the Palazzo della Ragione and the Torre del Gombito.
